Big Brother, Eviction Market, Week 8: Mo gets ready to go

After the clash of the joker and the hunk was scuppered, Mohamed looks the most likely to meet Davina on Friday, says Chicken Dinner.

Well, it almost happened: there was nearly a head-to-head eviction to rival the classic Spencer/Alex stand off from series three. Those who were there on that fateful night will know that the nation fell silent as the results came in, and early leader Spencer was ushered from the house to a gasping audience. Luke against Dale would have been equally impossible to call - the joker taking on the hunk. A hunch suggests that Luke's comedy worth would have marginally pipped Dale's good looks, especially in a week where Dale's hideous introductory video was dusted off and re-aired for those who had missed it - promising to "nail" any "fanny" was an ill-judged method for garnering popularity.

However, Rex, Darnell, Kathreya, Stuart, Maysoon, Rachel and Mohamed were all late additions to the eviction market, having evoked the wrath of Big Brother for discussing nominations. Big mistake. So on the plus side for Liverpudlian PE teacher Dale, with eight others up, he should be safe. As should Luke.
It's at that stage of the series - when the louder, more irritating voices have been voted out - that the public begin to notice and despise those who don't appear to be putting their backs into it.

It's always the same, the first month or so is spent shooting down the entertainment, followed by weeks of picking off the dullards. Hence the stronger voices like Rex, Darnell, and Kathreya will be safe. That said, both Rex and Darnell appear to be hell-bent on ruffling feathers - Rex by being cruel to Rachel, Darnell by going totally bonkers and eating an entire tube of toothpaste. Both would be wise to calm it down, and get back to peacocking about the house like they own the place.

Staring down the barrel of a shotgun this week are Stuart, Rachel, Maysoon, and Mohamed. Rachel and Maysoon, in particular, have embarked on a downward spiral in the last few days, having both incited fury with their persistent fence sitting. Of the two, Rachel seems the most affected and genuinely saddened by the comments blasted at her by the others, which might be enough to keep her on board for a few weeks longer - after all, the viewers adore an underdog, and being picked on has made her just that. She comes across as sweet natured in the highlights shows, and as a strong ally with the favourite - Kat - so she should be safe. Maysoon, on the other hand, could come unstuck. Her job was to enter the house, stir some loins, and prove that models aren't all revoltingly self-obsessed dipsticks. Unfortunately, she has failed on every single count. If not now, she will go next.

Thankfully for everyone, Mohamed looks the most likely to be Friday's whipping boy. Podgy and greedy, he can't compete with the good looking bodybuilders for sex appeal, and unfortunately, when he opens his mouth to speak, nothing of any interest ever comes out. He's one of life's victims, and sadly, his Big Brother experience will do nothing to improve his rep. It's between him and Stuart, and Stuart is too damn pretty to forsake just yet. The girls still love his eyeliner.
Lisa, Mikey and Sara are the only housemates not up.

This week, Chickendinner predicts
: Mo to go, Darnell to win.
