Big Brother Betting: Feizal's thoughts - Lay Kathreya to win at a short-price while you can

Feizal updates us on the latest developments in the house as another crop of fame-obcessed contestants enjoy their moment in the limelight. Mohamed continues to bare the wrath of of his housemates, Dennis is gone and Kathreya is a warm favourite to win it. But should she be?

After a sluggish start following the vile Alexandra's exit, week 4 culminated into an exhilarating finale of tumultuous proportions, resulting in Big Brother handing us two heads for the price of one on eviction day. Having won the weekly shopping task, the house indulged in the obligatory booze-up to celebrate, but - as only alcohol can do - the underlying tensions in the house were slashed wide open as a consequence.

Already riling many with his haughty persona, Rex mindlessly defaced Jennifer's painting of Stuart, leaving the Geordie girl in a tearful state of distress. Despite apologizing immediately, the rusty-haired chef was aggressively berated by both Dale and Stuart - who rapidly morphed into caveman mode to protect their fair maiden - and a needlessly melodramatic free-for-all ensued.

In a typically vain attempt to diffuse the situation, Mohamed dared to pass comment which triggered off a hate-filled gob in the face from irascible Scottish dancer, Dennis. It seems there is nothing the Somalian-born toy demonstrator can say, or do, that doesn't provoke irritation from someone else in the house.

Big Brother quickly intervened, ordering the warring factions to separate into the two bedrooms overnight. Stunned by Dennis' disgusting act, the housemates knew what was to come the following day and, inevitably, the surrogate love child of Wayne Sleep and Rab C. Nesbitt was expelled from the house as ingloriously as Alexandra only a week earlier.

Wounded from their loss, Jen's loyal cabal endured yet another defeat as Sylvia was later evicted from the house with a whopping 90% of the public vote, meaning fellow nominee Mohamed (now [36.0] to win) scored a further moral victory for himself and his alliance with Rex ([28.0] to win).

With Jen's wolf pack now in disarray, the attention-seeking princess herself has been installed as the favourite to be the 3rd evictee (currently [3.1] to go) and pushed out to [250.0] to win. Dismal Dale and simple Stuart have also suffered, both lengthened to [65.0] and [55.0] respectively in the winner market and into [7.4] and [12.0] in eviction market, with Rex at [5.6] and Mohamed [7.4].

The significant mover of the week, however, has been wannabe hip-hop gang-star Darnell. In condemning the actions of Dennis and the rest of Jen's posse, albeit in an overly hostile manner, the African -American albino has been cut to the [5.3] second favourite to win overall. Although short of real contenders, this appears on the face of it to be an over-reaction to his no-nonsense, straight-talking attitude to the bitching and back-stabbing, but this particular housemate probably has a bigger story to tell in the long run than anyone.

If he can tone down the street-talk and temper when in a confrontation, the softer side of Darnell could be enough to shine through this year and a potential relationship with the moon-faced Rebecca ([70.0] to win) is also warming up nicely.

Elsewhere, the middle-aged Mario and Lisa ([28.0] and [80.0] to win respectively) continue to treat their time in the house as some sort of freebie summer jaunt to Butlins. What with daily poolside sun-bathing to top up the tan, the occasional workout to maintain the figure and the regular group tasks to keep them entertained, it looks like the odd couple have got a one hell of bargain for the small price of embarrassing themselves on national TV.

Meanwhile, resident munchkin Kathreya remains the very literal jolly - at a very layable [2.2] to win - while fellow goody two-shoes Rachel is back into [14.0] having gone out to as high as [36.0] last week. Cheeky-chappie Luke is quickly losing people's trust with his inter-clique snipings and hovers around the [17.0] mark, along with Mikey, whose frequent old-man bickering does little to make friends and influence people. One gets the feeling that this year's housemate quota is not yet filled and having lost this year's requisite gay so early, a pink-tinted new arrival may possibly await.

Quote of the week: "Creep, creep... creep...creep, creep..." - Dennis' needle gets stuck as his rendition of a famous Radiohead song falls on Rex's deaf ears.
