Has Noirin Broke Her Last BB Heart?
When the love-struck Iranian got together with Noirin, he knew that it would end his relationship with his girlfriend and inspire Marcus to start sharpening his adamantium claws.
It's the first competitive eviction market of the series thus far, as Noirin goes head to head with her admirer Marcus. Dan 'The Betting Man' Fitch thinks that Noirin will be the one to receive the boos on Friday.
'Love will tear us apart' sang Ian Curtis. The song was written about the breakdown of his marriage, because Curtis was having it away with some German bird, but it could have very easily have been written about the situation between Marcus and Noirin.
What started as innocent prick-teasing, has now given way to full bloodied mental torture, as Noirin took the remaining fragments of Marcus' broken heart and crushed them into dust, by beginning a relationship with Siavash.
The ill-considered antics of the Irish harlot and the resulting depression of Marcus, has seen the former best friends, pitted against each other in this week's eviction.
Before the prices, I first have to give some explanation. Because Kenneth decided to jump over the wall, rather than be booed by some teenage girls without his bodyguards to keep the situation under control, last week's 8th eviction market was not settled.
Instead, the market carries onto this week, which is a lesson in why a short odds favourite is never a completely sure thing in the world of Big Brother betting. Noirin can be backed at [1.8], but if you want to bet on Marcus, you need to click on 'Any Other' at a price of [2.28].
This is the first truly competitive eviction of the series thus far, featuring two housemates that are both unpopular with the audience. Noirin though, is making herself more disliked by the day and I think that she will be the one taking the walk of shame on Friday night.
Not content with breaking the hearts of Sree, Angel and Marcus, Noirin now seems determined to turn Siavash into a similar quivering wreck.
When the love-struck Iranian got together with Noirin, he knew that it would end his relationship with his girlfriend and inspire Marcus to start sharpening his adamantium claws. The fact that he took that risk shows that he has some genuine feelings for Noirin, so how did she repay this leap of faith?
Why, by immediately questioning as to whether she fancied Tom more and then telling Siavash that they are just friends, of course. It looks as if their 'romance' has ended before it's really begun, though the one ray of light for Siavash is that Noirin is always in the mood for a bit of slap and tickle under the duvet, once she's got a couple of cans of lager inside her.
Elsewhere, Freddie seems to be in danger of following Marcus' path, as he is becoming somewhat obsessed with new housemate Bea. This is hardly surprising, as she is so obviously his type, that she was either handpicked specifically for the task of making him fall in love with her, or has been genetically cloned from a drop of Janis Joplin's DNA.
I think we can rely on Freddie to hold it together better than Marcus though and the Betfair punters obviously agree, as he remains the [2.88] favourite. Last week I wrote how Bea was the only real contender of the new housemates, but her tendency to gossip and repeat things that were told to her in confidence, has seen her price rise to [36.0].
As is generally the case, the addition of new housemates has stirred up things for the worse. It was the alpha-male threat of Tom, which saw Marcus go over the edge (and miss Siavash coming through on the inside rails), only for Tom to follow Kenneth in walking out of the house.
Of the other newbies, Hira at [100.0], rivals BB4 bore Gos as the dullest housemate of all time. Even worse is David at [60]. Every time he opens his mouth to utter another banality, I picture him dressed in women's clothing, talking over a back street wall to Les Dawson.
The challenge to Freddie, now seems reduced to a three way fight. Siavash remains as low as [5.9], despite his entanglement with Noirin, which bodes well for his future should she leave on Friday. Then, neck and neck, are Sophie at [7.0] and Charlie at [6.8]. I still feel that the latter is way too short, considering that he's done little of interest, except for squabbling with Rodrigo.
I'll end things with a link to Marcus' website, just in case it's him that's evicted on Friday. He has often referred to himself as the 'Irrepressible Dark Horse', but who knew that he had designed an action figure, in tribute to his own legend?
If you look hard enough on this site and you can also find a picture of him playing pool, while dressed as a Stormtrooper.
