Big Brother Betting: It's girl v girl in the fourth eviction

Chickendinner run you through the Emilia v Latoya battle...

Only five times in the entire history of UK Big Brother have two girls gone head-to-head in a normal eviction. This Wednesday will see the sixth - under the assumption that this series is a normal BB, not a celebrity one (with apologies to those who have all of Nathan's records).

And so timid little roller-skater-of-death Emilia [3.3 to go on Betfair] finds herself up against Latoya [1.31] - who has barely made a peep, except for the time she decided to make Victor punch a wall in the face. Her part in the complete dismantling of Emilia's loathsome oik of a brother appears to have catapulted her into the eviction battle. She would otherwise have avoided nomination, as no one really knows that she's there.

Of course, everyone knows that Emilia is there. If she isn't bending herself into the shape of a scorpion, she can be found seductively pouring water all over herself in the hot tub. No doubt E4 will be running a loop of Emilia eating a banana in slow motion should viewing figures become any more worrying.

Based on the five girl/girl eviction battles from the past, the one with the higher profile tends to stay in - which would suggest that Emilia will be fine. Alongside Amy she has been the most prolific in the highlights shows, while Latoya has been caught silently admiring Nathan at best. She has shown little emotion, and no personality whatsoever. If Nathan were as popular as he thinks he is, she would be in it for the long haul, and their 'love story' would be driving the show. As it is, people are more taken with the odd couples - Anthony/Calista, Emilia/Jeremy. Hence the Birmingham/Italian bendy thing will be free to pursue Jeremy for at least another couple of days.

Working against Emilia is that she has developed a cruel bitchy streak of late, which some factions of the voting demographic will find odious, but she is no more unkind than Chanelle (Big Brother 8) or Nikki (Big Brother 7), both of whom survived high profile eviction head-to-heads with other girls in the house. Latoya has committed a far greater crime by being a little bit quiet. Voters will take bitchy over boring any day.
