Superb breakaway try from Ricky Januarie freezes New Zealand in their tracks
South Africa won for the first time in New Zealand since 1998 when beating the All Blacks 30-28 in Dunedin on Saturday morning, a ground where they had never previously been successful.
The Springboks led 17-15 at half-time, but looked likely to be denied when the imperious Dan Carter kicked the Kiwis 28-23 ahead.
At that stage, New Zealand were backed at [1.14] on Betfair and South Africa drifted to [9.0].
But a superb chip and collect touchdown by scrum-half Ricky Januarie in the 75th minute saw the visitors go 30-28 up, a lead which they held onto.
So, not great news for those who have backed New Zealand as low as [1.4] to win the Tri-Nations on Betfair.
But very welcome for those who kept the faith in world champions South Africa, who have been matched at a high of [5.9].
