Dempsey winning his first bracelet. Will we be witnessing similar scenes come Thursday night?
A whole host of big names stand between the British duo and a coveted gold bracelet. They include the former number one ranked online tournament player Taylor Paur, WPT winner Michael “Sir_Watts” Watson, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Emil “Whitelime” Patel, Tristan Wade and the recent runner-up at the EPT London Main Event Steve O'Dwyer!
The €3,200 No Limit Hold'em Shootout final table kicks off at 1500CET on Thursday at the World Series of Poker Europe after the 258 players who entered were whittled down to just ten survivors. Amongst the ten hopefuls are two British players, Max Silver and James Dempsey. Could we have another British WSOP bracelet winner by the time Thursday draws to a close?
Dempsey may be better known as "Flushy" to some of you online poker aficionados but when he is not busy playing high stakes Pot Limit Omaha cash games online he can be found at major live tournaments where he has won close to $800,000 so far in his career. Dempsey already holds a WSOP bracelet after he took down the $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em event at the 2010 World Series of Poker and he almost added a second during the same series but he finished as runner-up to Sam Farha in the $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo Championship.
Silver may not be as well known as Dempsey but his reputation is certainly growing and he has been a formidable opponent during this tournament. Nobody expected him to get through the second stage as his three-handed table pitted him against Vanessa Selbst and Terrence Chan but he took care of them both and certainly deserves his place on the final table.

You may notice that the players all have different chip counts despite this being a shootout event. This is because during day one there were a number of dead stacks at each table , which were blinded off until the registration period ended, at which point they were removed from play. This has lead to the chip count differences.
