With just 79 players remaining in the main event, the average chip stack at the start of day 6 is 1.73 million. Here are the days biggest hands.

Phil Hellmuth caused quite a stir late on in day 5 when he went too far berating a player for bad play and faced a penalty of missing a whole orbit of play at the beginning of day 6. However, Phil was dealt in and began playing straight away and it was later revealed the penalty had been waived. He was eliminated in 45th place during the day when he took a stand with Ah Qd after his stack had crumbled considerably. He was looked up by a player with Jh Jc and received no help on a flop of Kd 4h 3h. Apart from giving him a pair, the turn card was a great one in the 10h meaning he could win with any Ace, King, Jack or heard. He could not catch one of his outs however and excited the tournament in a very loud and classic Hellmuth style. He won $154,400 for his efforts.

Brandon Cantu had amassed a huge mountain of chips before tangling with another one of the chip leaders, Crag Marquis. In a 3-bet pot, both players checked a flop of Jc 6d 5s. The Ad fell on the turn and Cantu check raised the bet from Marquis who called. The 10c fell on the river and Cantu moved all in, covering Marquis. Cantu threw his hand into the much when Marquis made the call, showing Ah Qs and raking in the 12m pot. Cantu was below the 4m mark after the hand.

After Hellmuth, Mike Matusow was not only the loudest player left in the tournament but the most well known. Unfortunately Mike would not blow up to be eliminated from the tournament, instead suffer a real bad beat. Mike 3-bet a raise before the flop and was called, with the flop coming Ad As 5h. Both players checked and the 9h fell on the turn, with Mike betting and then calling his opponents all in. Mike turned over Ah Js but was crushed by his opponents Ac 9c. Mike could not catch a Jack and was eliminated in 30th place, earning $193,000.
