The third of four day ones has come to an end, here are the biggest moments of the day.
Clonie Gowen was involved in a big hand early. In a limped pot, the flop came Ah 5d 4s and Clonie raised her opponents bet, a third opponent raised and Clonie made another re-raise. Her opponent moved all in she instantly called showing As 3s and was trailing her opponents 5c 4d. 'I didn't double check, I thought i had A5' she said. The turn was a blank but the river 3h gave Clonie a better two pair and she doubled up. 'If I would of checked my cards again, I would not have called.'
Huck Seed, the 1996 World Champion was eliminated quite early when on a board of 7s 7c 3s Qc he faced a large bet from his opponent. He thought about it for a while and after studying his opponent, moved all in. After briefly thinking it through, his opponent called showed Ad 7d which had Seeds 9h 7h dominated. The river was no help and Seed was sent home early.
Sammy Farha was involved in a big hand after finding an opponent as colourful as himself. His opponent raised pre-flop and Sammy turned round and jokingly said 'This could be it' after making the call. A flop if Jh 3d 2s was good enough for a bet from his opponent and Sammy made the call. The turn was the Qc and his opponent asked 'How much did I bet last time?' and then made a large bet. Sammy made the call, continuing to act playfully. The river was the 7c and Sammy was faced with an instant all in bet. His opponent talked excessively throughout Sammy's thought process. 'Are you bluffing?' Sam asked between other conversation at the table, which now had a large audience gathered. Finally after several minutes he made the call, showing Ad Jd but it was no good as his opponent tabled Kd Qs for a turned top pair. Sammy smiled and made his way out of the tournament area.
