With day 1A over and already some impressive chip stacks here we will look at some of the biggest hands from the first day.
Tom 'durrr' Dwan had a rough day, with his Aces getting cracked by A8 and losing half his stack. He later doubled up when on a flop of 8s 7s 5h, Dwan raised his opponents bet by 900. His opponent thought about it for a while and asked for a chip count. Dwan had 9,300 left and the player, after some more thought, moved all in. Dwan called straight away with 8h 8d for top set and the other player showed 9h 9c. Dwans hand help up and he finished the hand with 22,000. He would later be eliminated when his opponent rivered a flush against his two pair.
Alec 'Traheho' Torelli was eliminated when on a flop of As Qc 7h his opponent bet 1,000 and Torelli raised to 2,500 and was called. The turn was the 10s and both players ended up all in with Torelli showing Ad 7d for a flopped two pair, but his opponent held Kh Jd for a turned straight. Torelli could not catch another ace or seven and was out of the main event.
Dave 'Deilfish' Ulliot faced an early hit to his stack in a hand against author Michael Craig. He would then be forced to make a move with 9c 9s and was in bad shape when his opponent called with Qh Qd. The Fish could not improve and his opponent hit a Q on the river for good measure to send the Englishman to the rail.
Eli Elezra was sent back to Bobby's Room after calling a preflop raise and going heads up. The flop cam Ks 4s 10c and Elezra called his opponents flop bet. The turn was the Jh and his opponent moved all in with Elezra making the call. He was in bad shape after showing Kh Qs Vs his opponents Kc Jd and could not improve on the river.
