Turbulent Times For Tom 'durrr' Dwan Pt.1

It seems that during his first year at the WSOP in Vegas, Tom 'durrr' Dwan is not making any new friends says Chris Edwards. There have already been two reports on him being involved in arguments, with one being justified at least. Both were in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event.
You Call That Equity?'
The first involved a hand between durrr, Gus Hansen and a third random player during a round of Pot Limit Omaha. The random player had raised with Hansen calling, durrr then moving all-in over the top and the random player raising again, with Hansen once again calling. A flop of 6c 5h 4c, a potentially massive action flop in PLO had Hansen moving all in with the random player calling. With the 3 way all in, the hands were exposed as:
durrr: 10c 8d 7h 5d
Hansen: Kh Ks 7c 6h
Player 3: As Ah 10s 2c
At this point durrr has the nuts with the only redraw to a flush, a great spot after the flop, but the table were bemused about his shove pre flop. durrr went on to win the main pot with Hansen winning the side pot, eliminating player 3. There was then an exchange between durrr and Hansen.
Hansen: "Durrr, I know you're the world's best PLO player but... honestly, what is the point of pushing there?"
Dwan: "Because I know you're not folding now, but you'll fold most flops and he (the other player) will shove most flops."
Hansen: "Let me tell you, this guy has no fold option whatsoever."
Third player: "What the heck were you doing?"
Dwan: "I think my equity is good there."
Hansen: "Really?!?! You call that equity?"
Dwan: "Yeah, I think I even shove there online. If it's a PLO tournament online I shove."
Gus and the rest of the table looked confused as Dwan stacked his chips.
Dwan: "There's also only 16 minutes left in the day. That was a factor also. I don't want to come back tomorrow with only 7,000 chips."
It seems that durrr is pretty clear with his reasoning. And after having the numbers run through a simulator, durrr would win that hand roughly 33% of the time, more than enough in this situation. Coupled with the fact that, in 2008 so far, durrr is up almost $1.65m in PLO online and Hansen is down almost the same figure, durrr has a lot of straws to clutch on to.

What I'm going to say is going to be somewhat controversial.... or is it? At the end of the day, irrespective of any argument, no one has any monopoly over decisions being made. The bottom line is, you pay money to enter tournaments and you take the risk involved in any decision made. If you are 98% ahead, when you make a decision. That doesn't mean that you are immune to a beat. It seams to me that people who 'moan' still don't get these points. 1. You pay into a tournament knowing that you may get a beat when your ahead. 2. This being the case, you have to accept the variance factor involved. (If you don't like that, play chess) 3. If you can't, don't get at other players. The reason being that if the situation happens again, and it goes in your favour, be happy. An individual has made an inferior decision against you and you have profited. Thats what poker is all about. And Gus.... what do they say about glass houses????
