At just 22 years of age, Peter Eastgate is the youngest player at the final table of the Main Event. If was to win he would become the youngest ever Vegas winner behind Phil Hellmuth who was 24 when he won in 1989.

Eastgate hails from Odense, Denmark and only began playing the game 3 years ago. He is now considered one of the best online Danish players and specialises in short handed high limit cash games up to the $200/$400 levels. He dropped out of college where he studied Economics to play the game full time.

He has had two big cashes before this yeas WSOP. The first was at last years Irish Open where he came 9th winning $46,714. He then came 32nd at this years EPT Scandinavian Open winning $16,610. He has also enjoyed some broadcast time on UK TV, playing in the Poker Million events where he failed to qualify for the finals.

Eastgate is confident with how he has played in the tournament so far after being near the chip lead for the last few days of the event. He describes his style as solid and that he likes to think long and hard in each hand about the optimal play, which he usually makes. He feels that he learnt a lot from his previous cashes and that although he made mistakes, he is a better player for it.

Asked about if he is ready for the coming three months of attention he sates he is unsure as hes never been in the situation before, but also mentioned he is neither excited or nervous about what might happen. He plans to play live a lot leading up to the final table and mentioned the possibility of playing the WSOPE.

Eastgate enjoyed a bountiful last day, eliminating both Brandon Cantu and Tiffany Michelle. He eliminated Cantu with Ad Qh when he made an ace flush against Cantu's 99 and crushed Michelle's AJ when he held AA. He also tangled with many of the other big stacks in the tournament.

In one hand against chip leader Dennis Phillips, Eastgate raised to 575,000 and Phillips made the call. A flop of Qh 4h Js saw both players checking and the 3h on the turn had them checking again. The 7c on the turn induced a 800,000 bet from Phillips and Eastage looked him up with Kc Jh which was good after Phillips showed 10s 7s.

Peter Eastgate will return for the final table in 4th chip position.
