Tales of the Vegas Virgin - Day 6 - Sunglasses and Call Girls

Today I woke up as fresh as I could hope for, which was great! Richard and I met in the lobby around 09:30 and had a quick breakfast. Today was his last full day in Vegas and he needed to buy some stuff, so off to the Fashion Mall we marched.
The place is huge and the first shop Richard and I entered happened to be probably the most expensive as branded clothes such as Versace, Armani, D&G, etc were the only things on show. We were out of there before a sales assistant could suck us back in and started our search for a pair of sunglasses that my trusty friend needed. Of course, Richard could not find one that suited him whilst I managed to find and buy a really cool one for myself, which didn't sit well with him - haha!
Thankfully though, the next shop did have nice ones for him, three in fact.. The choice was finally made and his pair cost about $230 but the shop owner told us they had a promotion that would entitle a $50 discount if he gave her any old pair. I quickly took out the one I was previously using, proudly bought for €5 about 2 years ago - and she accepted!!! Even funnier was the fact that the case for the sunglasses looked like a small purse and the bag she handed Richard made him look a bit 'off'.
We then proceeded to tour the rest of the place when we came across a gadget shop that had one of those digital frames for sale. The quality was good (Sony) and the price tag was only $110, which is almost 40% cheaper than Malta so out came the credit card and in came my parent's gift from my trip to Vegas:)
I then left Richard at the mall as I had to be at the Rio around 12:30 to make sure the Sky Sports and Card Player interviews with Annette and John went smoothly, which they did! Everyone was happy and whilst John (gutted for his exit - sorry mate) had to run away as a friend was tilting at the Wynn poker room, Annette stayed a bit longer and spoke with a few more people, which was even better.
After the press mayhem was over, I then headed over to Sorel's table to say hello and I was glad to see that his stack was one of the largest I've seen. At a glance, it seemed he had just over 100k but it was actually 127,00 J I only had a quick chat though as I didn't want to make him lose any concentration and proceeded to have a look at the feature tables; one of which had Chris Ferguson and the other had Greg Raymer trying to make history.
I left the Rio around 14:30 to meet Rich again for lunch at Caesars. This time I made my way in via the Shopping area and the place is decorated in the most realistic Ancient Rome design I've seen! It also featured a giant aquarium filled with huge fish, sting rays, eels, etc. Both of us didn't want a huge lunch so we headed into a cafe and ordered to Appetizer dishes which most of the world could have as a Main Course! After about half an hour of chewing, drinking water and chatting, we then walked around for a bit and headed back into the Rio just after 16:00, bright and early for an ESPN commercial that was to feature our very own Annette:)
We met with the Poker Icons crew and discussed what would be happening and Annette turned up bright and early, perfect! We then waited for the room where the filming would take place to be ready and went in. The shoot was taking some time and since not everyone could fit inside, Richard and I headed back to Sorel's table, who was still doing well:) Chris Tessaro, one of the journalists who also was playing the Main Event, was also close by so we decided to say hi to him as well.
Just before 19:00 and the dinner break, we said bye and good luck to Sorel and headed back to the Encore for a quiet, celebratory drink. This was Richard's last night in Vegas so after our colleague joined us and we had a few more beverages, we decided to go get ready and meet around 22:00. The taxi ride there was the funniest we could have hoped for and we stopped at the Imperial Palace for some cheap drinks, cheap slots and a few laughs.
We then went next door to some open air club called "Carnival" something... The music was nice and a lot of nice girls where in attendance. Obviously, we all decided to get right in the middle of them and to our surprise, they were happy about it. We quickly made friends with a few of them and this super hot blonde started to explain the way body shots worked.. and then proceeded with having me doing one:) (or two I can't remember)
Around 01:30 all of were a bit hungry and made out way to a pizza place but not before we each got handed over about 100 cards with different (but all amazing) girls, telephone numbers and prices. I have to admit we were glad to get them as they provided us with a game to play whilst eating our food - Call Girl Top Trumps! After the food was down and the cards back in our pockets, we would have liked to hit a few more clubs but the alcohol was getting to best of us, especially me. I was then told that the tequila body shots actually were doubles and that explained why it felt like a woodpecker was living in my head!
I made it into bed around 02:30 but not before we all had one last drink at a bar inside the Encore. It is now breakfast time for me and thankfully, for some weird reason, I never have a hangover to feeling great to tackle another day in my new office, Las Vegas!
