Darus Suharto's Main Event is over after he failed to outdraw fellow Canadian, Scott Montgomery during hand 105 of the final table.
Seated on the button, Suharto saw a raise to 1,500,000 in front of him from Montgomery and decided his Ah 8c was sufficient to move all-in with. Montgomery agonised at his decision for several minutes, letting out long sighs and staring at Suharto looking for clues into what he may have been holding.
Montgomery eventually called with As Qd and was in great shape as he had Suharto dominated. A flop of Ks Js 2s was almost perfect for Montgomery as he held the Ace of spades for the nut flush draw, a draw that came in with the arrival of 4s on the turn, meaning Suharto was drawing dead.
The meaningless river was the four of clubs and 39-year old Suharto leaves the table to rapturous applause and collects $2,418,562 for his troubles. Action is now five handed with the remaining players evenly matched in terms of chip stacks.
