RedDolphin proved himself a bit of a shark in the latest UK Million Dollar Game Freeroll on Betfair Poker when outlasting the 108 other freerollers to book his place in the live regional final later this year.

While the rest of the country watched The Apprentice Final RedDolphin played his way to success at a final table noticably shorter than previous reported events when roady and pagey44 qualified.

Aproximate chip counts going into the final table: RedDolphin 59k, monkey268 59k, Bono76 20k, jerseyyid 13k, Djam 7k, pporky1706 32k, Gogutu 9k, Ugly Mug 12k and Wellsey 27k. Blinds were 500/100 with the ante at 100

It would be the last named of the final table line-up Wellsey who was first to exit when his Js10s made up to two pair on a flop of KsJd10d. He must have felt confident when pporky1706 called his re-raise shove after his opponent had minimum raised on the flop with 10cQs. His heart must have dropped when a 9s completed a straight for pporky1706 leaving a spade or a Queen for a chopped pot the only hope for Wellsey. It was the Three of Diamonds.

We lost a short-stacked jerseyyid next after his top pair on the flop was outkicked by the running good pporkey1706 before Ugly Mug hit the rails after arguably not putting his AA to good enough use and was outdrawn by RedDophin.

Shortly afterwards, the defining hand of the contest occured and one which was to give RedDolphin a lead he was never going to relinquish.

With blinds at 750/1500 (ante 150), monkey268 (109K) made a 2x raise from the button with RedDolphin (68k) defending from the big blind. On a flop of Ad5h4d, RedDolphin raised it to 7,500 only to be re-raised to 15,000. The eventual winner insta-shoved flipping over AK against the A8 of the chip leader. The AK held and the game was changed.

Not long after, RedDolphin's pair of 4's saw off monkey268 when turning trips while his pair of 6's help against a short stack attack by Bono76 with AQ.

The valiant Djam hung around for a while with some well timed aggression before RedDolphin's turned flush was too strong for his top pair.

At heads up, RedDolphin had 200k with his opponent on just 69k. The early exchanges saw the eventual loser muscle his way up to 100k and slowly closing the gap. However, the final hand came soon after. Having called a small raise from pporky1706 both players saw a flop of Kc10d8d. A pot size raise was met with an all-in from pporky1706 and an insta-call from the winner with a pair of 8's. The runner-up's 7d6d would not turn into a flush and the action came to a halt with RedDolphin easing his way into the next live stage and one step closer to winning a million dollars.
