The betting market for the World Series of Poker Main Event Final table is quickly taking shape on Betfair with chip leader Darvin Moon the current favourite to take down the coveted bracelet.

Moon can be backed at around 3/1 to hold onto his lead but backers need to be aware Dennis Phillips was a well supported favourite and chip leader in 2008 before falling at the last hurdle and allowing Peter Eastgate to triumph in Las Vegas.

Eric Buchman occupies second place in the market, with the New Yorker available to back at around 9/2 with many believing his big tournament experience can help him land his first WSOP title.

Steven Begleiter occupies third spot in the betting odds at around 5/1 though his lack of tournament cashes may tempt some to lay the American who hails from New York State.

Not surprisingly, Phil Ivey (pictured) has been a popular choice with backers given his overall record at the WSOP though many will feel his current odds of 13/2 are a touch prohibitive for the player will will sit down in November as one of the shorter stacks.

UK hope James Akenhead remains one of the outsiders but patriotic punters may want to avail themselves of the 20/1 on offer but the youngster needs plenty of early luck coming into the final table with just under seven million chips and the official 'shortie'
