Team Betfair enjoyed a spectacular Day 2 at the Aussie Millions in Melbourne with qualifier Annica Ivert leading the field with Annette Obrestad sitting in second place.

The Sweden-born Ivert, who qualified on for the event through a Betfair satellite will begin Day 3 with 555,900 chips a full 100,00 chips clear of Annette Obrestad on 454,8000 with their nearest rival Rajkumar Ramakrishnan in third place on 388,200.

Although primarily a high stakes cash player, Ivert showed no tournament nerves as she climbed the leader board throughout day sending a few rivals to the rails and not afraid to get into a scrap with the likes of Patrik Antonious and Day 1c chip leader Ben Charlton.

In the meantime, Annette Obrestad increased her stack ten-fold from her starting chips of 45k but it could have been very different in an early hand when she put a player all-in with her KK looking very much second best against AA. She flopped a King and eliminated her rival as the turn and river gave him no reprieve.

Later in the day, Obrestad doubled up when hitting a two outer on the turn giving her a full house and crippling her all-in opponent who had flopped a set.

Sorel Mizzi enjoyed a quiet day but still sits nicely in contention on 190,000 chips having started the day on 97,000.

John Tabatabai, who was eliminated on Day 1b from the Main Event, played in the $5,300 Heads Up Championship and having come through three heads-up contests will return tomorrow afternoon for a semi-final match against against David Gent. First prize in the Heads-Up tournament is $100,000.

David "Geeforce" Gent was another Betfair qualifier for the Aussie Millions but failed to make it through the huge field on Day 1c.

All in all, a fantastic day for Team Betfair.
