All three Betfair players - pros Annette Obrestad and Sorel Mizzi as well as online qualifier Annica Ivert have made it to Day 4 of the Aussie Millions in Melbourne.
Another successful day for Team Betfair with three players still in contention for the AU $2 million first prize.
It is Annette Obrestad that leads the way on 807,000 chips with the Norwegian close up in fifth place behind Michael Tureniec (1,072,000), Christian Heich (880,000), Christopher Chronis (862,000) and Rajkumar Ramakrishnan (840,000).
Annica Ivert is still nicely placed and will take 709,000 chips into Day 4. Her stack taking a massive blow in the final session when she had to lay down her cards to a huge re-raise from Zachary Fellows which cost around 250,000 chips though she did manage to recover her position slightly the end.
Sorel Mizzi also remains in the hunt on 293,000 chips after an up and down day and the likeable Canadian was another player who finished the session strongly. Play is due to recommence at the 12:30pm local time when the 28 players left will be whittled down to nine before the final table is set.
So another successful day for Team Betfair with three players still in contention for the AU $2 million first prize (and all guaranteed at least AU $40,000) and, of course, the victory for John Tabatabai in the Heads Up Championship which netted the young Welshman AU $100,000.
Check back here later at Betfair Poker for a detailed report by our man in Melbourne Tristan Heffernan.
