Dave Woods advises us to 'Never teach poker to someone you live with...'
And then we read over the news wires that the daughter of poker legend Doyle Brunson, Pam Brunson, has won the Ladies Only event at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.
It can be safely assumed that Ms Brunson learnt some of her poker skills from her dad.
Using our Way Back When machine we see the young Brunson with her pappy at the playground. She sees the swings. "Higher!" she calls. "Higher!"
But dad urges caution. He will not raise. Ah, the impetuousness of youth. This is a hi-lo game. 'Tis a lesson well taught.
