In just over a week I will be flying to Dublin to play in the Main Event of Betfair Poker LIVE! Dublin and I am really looking forward to the tournament, partly because I have never, ever played in a live knockout-style tournament before but also to make amends for Manchester where I feel I got unlucky and busted within three hours!

I feel like in Dublin I might actually fold so that I can make it to the dinner break and if I really run good or get really lucky I might even make Day 2! I think Dublin could be really good fun and Ireland is such a beautiful place, the people are so friendly, talkative and very funny and I'm sure everyone taking part will have a great time.

Some people have asked me about strategy for bounty games and really it should not be too different than any other tournament because you should still be trying to win the tournament and you shouldn't be distracted by short-sighted gains. I mean it's just the same you're married, there are all these temptations around you, like girls trying to seduce you and you can have fun for one night but what you are risking is your long term happiness with your wife and family and your future for the sake of a short term result. I know it is a strange analogy but it is the exact same thing here, why put your tournament at risk for $100 when you it prevents you from winning $100,000.

I've not played much online poker by my standards, probably around 20,000 ring hands, but it is difficult to tell because I try not to look at my results very often, or my cashier page. I still use Holdem Manager to check the hands I have played but I honestly have no real idea if I am winning or losing this month overall. I've been playing $5/$10 this month, and it's been good to see there been lots of tables open, so I have been able to play five or six tables at a time, which is really nice because I like to play the same limit, and I have actually found it easier than the lower limits, maybe because I am more focussed I don't know, but it's not been going great. There was one guy played heads up with over five tables for about four hours and he just absolutely destroyed me and I must have lost about 15 buy-ins to me but he ran really good too and when someone runs really good against you can't make good calls any more because you are always thinking they have to have it again this time etc.

As some of you are aware I am playing in a $5 tournament tonight aimed at the entire Betfair community. I'm again really looking forward to it because I used to play the six-handed shootout nearly every night on the old software and this time I get to do some live commentary! I can't commentate tonight sadly because I don't have the correct equipment but for future tournaments I will be.
