There may be trouble ahead

I thought I'd give a little update to how things are going in the life of Yorkshire Pudding! I've still not found a job per se but I have sent my CV to dozens of people and I'm registered with more agencies than I care to remember. The main problem is I want part-time hours and jobs with those hours seem few and far between which has surprised me.

I did have a meeting with a prospective employer about a project which could be very exciting indeed if it comes into fruition and I'm dabbling in sporting advertisements for a friend, currently working my way through the upcoming Formula One Grand Prix's!

So what's with the title of the blog I hear you ask? Well my ex partner, from 4 years ago may I add, has decided to stop me seeing Pud Junior and has sent me a solicitor's letter telling me this. Basically, she somehow found one of my old blogs and took exception to some of the entries there despite nobody ever been mentioned by their real names. She obviously recognised herself and her family in there so the descriptions must be good! LOL! Anyway, this letter comes through today which tries to make me look like some sort of Monster saying that whenever Pud Jr has spent the day with me he is withdrawn and quiet with his mum and her family and that until they have monitored his behaviour there will be no contact of any sort! They have also requested that I do not contact Pud Jr's mum or family by any means otherwise they will go to the police and charge me with harassment! LMFAO! Thing is she's gone to some Mickey Mouse solicitor who not only spelled my name incorrectly but our son's name too! I could get into a public slagging match about how she allowed him to wear a nappy at four years old or giving him milk through a baby's bottle at the same age but here's not the place and it's probably best left to the solicitors.

The only people to benefit from this fiasco are the solicitors who will just line their pockets for months over something that can be resolved in one or two letters. Whatever!

I've played quite a bit of poker over the past couple of days with mixed results. I lost two buy-ins at NL20 before recouping my loses at $0.50/$1 fixed limit Hold'em. I also jumped back into the tournament scene when I entered a $6.60 MTT with 252 others. I wish I hadn't as I managed to essentially bubble another tournament, my eighth in eight days, after two hours of play! I got off to a decent start but went card dead for an age and the blinds were eating into my stack. With the blinds 150/300 I pushed my 2.2k into the middle holding AJo and was called by AJo! LOL!

Next hand I get 54o in the big blind and 5 of us see a flop of Q54 with two diamonds. I push my stack into the middle and all five call! The turn brings an Ace and two people go all-in. The river is the King of diamonds and a huge pot is won by 8d7d and I go home empty handed! I am sick and tired of running badly towards the back end of tournaments and surely I'm due a decent win in the next few attempts to even things out?!

I've been reading Doyle Brunson's Super System 2, particularly the Omaha and Omaha hi/low sections as the games seem very juicy indeed and I want to learn a new game after playing Hold'em for three years.

A teacher once told me always finish on a positive note so I will do! I'm looking forward to Saturday as it's my 27th birthday and Mrs P and I are spending it with my mum and dad, having a boat load of ale and probably some nice grub! Nothing spectacular but it's always nice to spend an evening as a family from time to time.

As always, thanks for reading and best of luck at those crazy tables!
