Poker blog round-up: Cloud, Small Stakes Hero, Broose and Zero-1k

I've not been around the blogs as much as I usually do this past week as I am currently recovering from a bout of man-flu that almost finished me off! Female readers will think I have only had a common cold but I swear it feels as if I have fought off the Ebola virus! Anyway, being the brave soldier that I am, here is this week's blog round-up.

The first blog I plead with you to read is Nick Cantwell's Betfair blog, more commonly known as Cloud Poker. I have "known" Cloud for a number of years now through blogging and the Raise The River forum and his sense of humour always appeals to me. He was asked to write a weekly blog for Betfair to add a bit of humour to the pages and his recent post about "How To Play An STT" highlighted this.

However, it seems a few of his reader's sarcasm detectors were turned to the fully off position and they failed to grasp the fact this was all entirely tongue in cheek! The first comment, on what is becoming my favourite post of all time, is golden, especially as he berates Cloud for being "rubbish", yet only picks up on two of the six "mistakes" Cloud made in his tournament. Sheer quality!

I am starting to wonder if the guy who commented on Cloud's post was involved in the monster pot that Zero-1k witnessed last week on William Hill. Sat at a fixed limit table, with blinds just £0.15/£0.30, Zero witnessed a pot that exceeded £22 Yes, a pot of over 70 big blinds! The hand seems to play out normally until the river where, on the Cryptologic software, the players can raise an unlimited number of times if they are heads-up. I had to have a chuckle to myself when they had to sit min-raising each other for a few minutes before the hands were revealed and when they were I'm sure you'll agree, WTF was "leec250091" thinking with his T7o? Proof, if it were ever needed, that poker is full of fish!

One guy, who I have mentioned on here before, who eats the proverbial fish for breakfast is Lorin Yelle, owner of Small Stakes Hero. Lorin oozes confidence, some may say a little cockiness but you cannot argue that the man talks sense and has the figures to back up his mouth. His recent article, entitled "My Case Against Using a HUD" is quite thought provoking, especially to a player like me who uses the software available on today's market. He then makes a post a day later highlighting his results for the week without the use of any software and he shows a profit of around $3,500. Must be nice!

Finally, the blog of Br00se, owner of numerous blogs, but one in particular caught my eye. Named, "I Don't Even Need A Title" his blog is a plethora of crazy thoughts which make you want to read more and more! I particularly enjoyed his post on "Mirror Theory" but the rest of his blog is well written and I'm looking forward to starting at the beginning and working my way to his most recent entries.

I think I'll leave it there for now, until next week, may all your outs be live!

**Editor's Note** Pud's illness (or humility) has meant he has missed my favourite blog post this week...Pud's Poker - My Biggest Score. Well done Pud.
