By some minor miracle I have managed to pull together a poker blog round-up for you, despite a million and one goings on at the moment but that's for another blog entry. Here goes with this week's blogs.
One of the most genuinely interesting blogs on the net is written by a guy calling himself Would-be, who write the blog "Tales Of A Degenerate Would-be." I have never read any other blog that is so honest and frank about the author's life and thoughts nor have I ever found one that makes you feel disappointed when the entry comes to an end. He is going through a really rough time at the moment as his father recently took his own life but Would-be has found the strength and courage to continue writing.
Somebody else who always writes good entries is Dungbeetle who keeps the blog entitled "Magical Mystery Poker Tour." His recent post, Leaving The Barracks, starts off with a little poker content but then tells you a great story about a situation he found himself in whilst on business in Amsterdam. I'll let you read it for yourself without any spoilers as I think it is classic!
Many poker players, myself included, often set themselves a goal of taking a small deposit and turning it into something meaningful. Many of these players, again myself included, get bored and stop the challenge and do something else instead. One man who has managed to stick to his guns is DeathByLight who is attempting to take $50 and turn it into $5,000. Proof of his determination can be found here and you will quickly see that the lunatic played close to 300,000, yes 300k hands of $0.01/$0.02 blind No-limit poker! Honestly, WTF! I really hope he makes it, I'll be rooting for him anyway.
Bringing up the rear, ooh err Mrs, is Jethrow who I have mentioned on these pages previously. However, his latest post is an absolute all-time classic. I have never read such a brilliant story about someone getting the Eartha Kitts ever in my life. I guess my sense of honour is a bit warped but each to their own I guess.
Honourable mentions need to go to Mudwig for making me laugh, and Rubbish for another top story, this time about trick or treating with his daughter.
As always, thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
