Poker blog round-up: CarmanSinCity, Bam-Bam, Bad Blood and Steve Holden

Once again we have made it through the working week and it is the glorious day that is Friday. I was meant to be heading to the WSOPE today to watch the Caesar's Cup but it's not happened so I guess I need to do a blog round-up for you guys! Here it is.

When you think of Las Vegas you imagine the sound of riffling chips, slot machines paying out and the hustle bustle of busy tourists ready to donate their hard earned cash to the smiling casino manager. What you rarely think about is the poor souls who are an integral part of the smooth running of Vegas, including waitresses like CarmanSinCity.

Carman keeps a blog called "Poker Girl In Vegas" which I have read for a while now, simply because she has some great stories to tell relating to he job. She made a post recently that opened my eyes a little into how the whole tipping thing works in Vegas. I always knew waiters and waitresses relied heavily on tips but Carman explains, "I have to tip out the bussers, food runners, and the bar on my SALES. Not on my tips, on my sales. So, I actually have to dig into my pocket to pay these people if my tables don't tip me." Pretty sick when you think about it.

I like the idea of the next post so much I might actually do it myself. Almost exactly one year ago, a blogger named Bam-Bam sent himself a delayed email so that it would arrive in his inbox on the anniversary he sent it. Personally I think its a cool idea and if you check the rest of his posts you'll find some quality humour and even some posts on poker!

Bad Blood makes up a trio of State-side bloggers this week with his post about what he describes as the "dumbest $1500 poker hand of all time." Not only is it a funny hand that shows the Poker Gods (amen) have a strange sens eof humour but kind of reminded me of a time I was playing on a site that had an all-in button that I misclicked whilst holding nothing but hit a runner-runner straight to stack a set of aces. Bad Blood also has a pretty extensive blogroll that should keep you busy for a little while.

Befre I sign off I must give a special mention to prolific blogger Steve Holden, who has been on a horrific dry spell for a while now but ended that in spectacular style by winning the Liverpool leg of the British Masters Poker Tour for a cool £9,000. Check out his blog, which is updated at least once a day, for more pokery type posts.

Well that draws this week's round-up to a close. As always, thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
