Don't drink and text

Howdy y'all! With the majority of us in England snowed in, I thought I would give you a little post to make you smile on this freezing Monday morning

When I was in my late teens/ early twenties I used to go out a lot, and I mean a lot. Thursday, Froday, Saturday and Sunday were dead certs and with me having friends who support different football clubs, there was usually an excuse to go watch a match on Monday's and Wednesdays too! I have had some great times but I also caused myself a lot of grief on occasions due to a weakness, which now I have thankfully got over, and that is drunken texting!

I used to be a total nightmare for it when I'd had a few too many beers. I'd end up texting ex-girlfriends, female friends, declare my love for my mates and even send texts to the wrong people, often slagging them off to someone else! LOL! As mentioned, I have grown out of this so imagine how funny I found it when a mate told me about his drunken texting a week or so ago!

The top and bottom of the story is that he went out for a midweek booze up, which always seems like a good idea at the time, but after a few too many shandies, decided it was a good idea to text his female house mate and tell her how much he would like to interfere with her!

Obviously, she turned his advances down and told him she was going to bed! The following day I was chatting to him over MSN and he told me about the texts and the fact that she had completely ignored any other texts he had sent that were apologising and trying to break the ice. We had a little laugh about it and he semi-joked that he wasn't going to go home until she replied!

I say semi-joked because at about 2030, he was still logged on MSN, playing games from the comfort of his work's office! Genius! Anyway, he then messages me to tell me the lass had just text him, would forget the texting incident and let him know she was out on the town so it was safe to go home! LOL at him wasting three/four hours of his life!

I guess the moral of the story is not to drink and text kids! The way I got around it was to stick an extra zero at the front of certain people in my phone book so that the message would not send! Either that or just leave your phone at home until you can display some self control!
