Curry, brandy and MTTs

Over the past few days I've managed to stuff my fat face with curry, drink a load of booze and play some poker. All of which combined lead to a happy Pudding!

Anyway, not long after she sat on the sofa we heard the letterbox go slightly, which it does from time to time with the wind or passing cars, so thought nothing of it. Then form the corner of my eye I saw the letterbox lift up and something tubular poking through!

The curryfest started as I went for an all you can eat buffet at the world's largest Indian restaurant, Aakash in Cleckheaton, with my old man. We don't really do much together so we decided to get together for Father's Day and with it being less than a tenner it was a cheap night too. Food was great as always and we chatted about this and that and we enjoyed the evening and hopefully we'll do something similar again in the near future.

Mrs P and I had a few beers on Saturday night as we managed to get rid of both babies for the first time in ages. We ordered a pizza and once I'd devoured mine I hopped onto the tables to play some poker, more on that later. After running like death I came away from the PC and let Mrs P talk to her mates online whilst I blew stuff up on the Xbox like the big child I am.

We had a late one and at around 0200 Mrs P came back downstairs complaining of the room spinning so she sat and watched my Perry and brandy fuelled body try and play Mario and Sonic at the Olympics on the Wii! Anyway, not long after she sat on the sofa we heard the letterbox go slightly, which it does from time to time with the wind or passing cars, so thought nothing of it. Then form the corner of my eye I saw the letterbox lift up and something tubular poking through!

Obviously we bricked it and I ran and jammed the flap shut as I was adamant someone was trying to pour something through! I checked out of the window and saw nobody, so went outside and still saw nothing so locked up and came back inside. About ten minutes later I decided to have a nosey out of the window and saw two young lasses we know walking down the street and after a quick phone call we discovered it was those two seeing if we were in! Why they didn't just knock on the door or text us is beyond me, especially when it turns out I almost broke their fingers! A nice little scare before bed never hurt anyone!

Now for poker, basically it sucks!I'm still waiting on my cashout, which has caused me to miss the final week of the Prize Fighter promo, but Snake Eyes from Raise The River was kind enough to loan me the amount of my cashout so I could play some $3.25 45 man games that I had decent success with earlier in the year.

When I played these game previously I 10-16 tabled them in sets but decided to play four tables continuously instead this time around. The Poker Gods (amen) obviously didn't like me altering my plans and decided to let me run like poo for the evening!

I busted out of my first three in the following manner AJ>A6, AT>K8 and then managed to run AQ into Kings. Jesus H Christ! To get on my nerves even further I shoved A9 right into an aggressive player's AQ in a BvB battle on the bubble and couldn't suck out then on the bubble of another I jam KT into AQ again and once again get no help from the dreaded RNG.

Things got no better later on when I AQ>J8 AIPF and then Q8 vs J9 all-in pre but a board that ran Q6399, yeah thanks! My misery, and session, ended when I shoved A4 into AA again in a BvB battle. Bloody lovely! I did manage a min-cash in one of my matches so my ROI is now an amazing minus 74% over seven games. I know this sample size is nothing at all but it does got to show how one or two 70/30 situations not going your way can drastically affect the short term's profits.

I'm looking forward to playing a bunch of these because despite losing I still enjoyed them. There is something about tournament poker that gets the blood pumping and the heart beating and I think it helps that I am definitely +EV in these fish tanks. I'm not setting any goals but I would like to think I could beat the $3 games for a 30% ROI over a decent sample size, I guess time will tell.

I think I'll leave it there for now, enough bad beats for one day!

As always, thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!
