FOR the past six years an amateur has won the WSOP Main Event.
Poker is not football's Premier League or the Formula 1 procession - in poker anyone can win.
But still the poker pros rock up to play in Las Vegas.
And they are doing pretty well.
At the time of writing, 25 WSOP tournaments of the 55 scheduled have been completed. And the Poker Anoraks notes that 19 of them have been won by professional poker players.

These pros have to win; playing poker being their chosen career.

You can buy a seat at the main event for $10,000. Poker pros will pay because they have to back themselves, and their sponsors demand it.
Don't be too impressed or intimated by poker pros - they know the value of bluff...
