Is it bad form not to tip the dealer?
IN Las Vegas you can tip the dealer. Many consider it bad form not to tip the dealer when you win a pot. But don't go mad. Yes, they are in the service industry and rely on tips, but this is your money. Yes, they smiled nicely but is that worth paying for?
Jonathan Raab in Poker Player magazine notes that in September the Gaming Commission is replacing the Gaming Board of Great Britain, which governed casino poker for many years.
And for the first time, it will be legal for players to tip dealers and other casino staff.
Is this a good thing? It's up to you if you tip, but the feeling is that you can create a bad atmosphere if you don't do right by the dealer.
But how much should you tip, if anything?
