Betfair announces Threedom Pass for World Series of Poker Europe. Betfair players on the final table will be sponsored for three years.
Betfair Poker has announced that if one of its players makes the final table at the WSOP Europe, they will be sponsored into the event for the next three years.
"The Threedom Pass has been a part of our live tournament offering for two years now but this is the most valuable yet," said Head of Poker Ben Fried.
The Threedom Pass will be worth $69,000 (buy-ins + $9,000 in expenses) at the World Series of Poker Europe and with 125+ Betfair players expected to take part; there is every chance that one of them will be back three years running - along with their winnings.
All players who qualify online with Betfair will be eligible, as well as customers who buy in direct through the software.
"With all the legends of poker who have committed to this event, making the first-ever WSOP Europe final table will be a significant accomplishment. We applaud Betfair for creating additional excitement and value for players," said Ty Stewart Director of Marketing, Sponsorship & Licensing for Harrah's Entertainment.
The Main Event at the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe presented by Betfair.com is expected to attract more than 700 players according to the Betfair betting market. Punters have made the 700+ band the favourite at 2.46 (roughly 6/4).
"We are all very excited about this event - the first bracelet event ever to take place outside Las Vegas. Team Betfair will have a strong presence and we want to make sure that our players are looked after in the famous Betfair tradition," said Ben Fried.
"The Threedom pass is there because we are committed to supporting our very best players."
Based on the odds of a Betfair player making the final table, the company will almost certainly pay out at least one Threedom Pass. Should several players make it to the final; the company could end up spending several hundred thousand dollars on player sponsorship.
"A bill we will foot gladly," said Fried.
