IN today's Ottawa Citizen, Marc Anderson notes a TV ad for one of these online Texas hold 'em sites claims that "the only difference between the poker room and the boardroom is a thin layer of felt, and also that poker is business without meetings".

But the differences are acute. And Anderson notes:
"How dare they! I mean, to suggest our MBA-toting captains of industry are cut from the same cloth as common riverboat gamblers is an outrageous slur. Riverboat gamblers, after all, play with their own money, take monumental risks, and when they don't pan out, go broke. CEOs play with your money, take monumental risks, and when they don't pan out walk away with multimillion-dollar severance packages, while you go broke."
