"ONE of the most successful poker strategies one can employ when in trouble is the bluff," says Canadian website Point Spreads.
Well, yes. The other strategy, broadly, is not to bluff. Other options when holding a losing hand include sobbing, whimpering and folding.
We will consider each one in later master classes.
"The secret to being good at executing a bluff is to be so convincing that opponents will choose not to question it, because they are certain it really is true."
Of course. It's really is so very simple. But how to execute the bluff? What do you do?
"A pure bluff, also known as a stone-cold bluff, involves a bet or raise with an inferior hand that has little to know chance of improving. A player who makes a pure bluff will do so upon belief that the pot can be won only if all other opponents choose to fold."
How you enact this trick is up to you. Do you bluff lots and get in the habit, or do you bluff only once, when it matters most?
You can check out how good you are at bluffing here...
