Betfair pro carries off two Scandinavian Poker Awards & is Norway's 'Golden Hand'
Congratulations to Betfair's Annette Obrestad who can't stop winning both on and off the poker table. The 19 year old Betfair pro has picked up another three prestigious awards - the 'Gullhånda', or Golden Hand, which is the only poker prize awarded in her native Norway, plus two more at the Scandinavian Poker Awards in Copenhagen.
It caps a phenomenal twelve months for Annette who won the World Series of Poker Europe, presented by Betfair, back in September. Her £1million first prize (that's a cool $1.95million) was the largest single cash win outside of Las Vegas.
That feat secured her the award for the Best Performance of the Year at the Scandies and also gave her the title of Best Female Player.
For the 'Gullhånda', she beat Trond Erik Eidsvig in a heads up match after being nominated via an online vote. Previous winners include the two-time WSOP bracelet holder, Thor Hansen.
And as if that wasn't enough for the teenager - back in December she became the youngest ever winner at the European Poker Awards when she carried off the accolade for Tournament Performance of the Year.
