The life of poker player is one made for film.
For starters you only need one camera - a decent poker player sits down at a table and remains there for hours.
Secondly, dialogue is kept to minimum.
And thirdly, when the action flags, the director can command a male/female/other to appear carrying a drink and some toast.
So we are excited at news of new film. According to the Internet Movie Database website, the life of professional poker player and lifetime gambler Amarillo Slim is to be turned into a film.
The lead role will be played by...Paul Henry, of Crossroads fame. Only what with Paul's pantomime commitments, Nicolas Cage is expected to step in.
The movie is based on Amarillo's book, Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People: The Memoirs of the Greatest Gambler Who Ever Lived.
