A poker player who really stinks

It is a pretty unusual way to get thrown off the poker tables but a New York City man was banned from a game in an Atlantic City casino because his body odour was putting off everyone else at the table, writes Rob Eddy.
Michael Wax, a 54-year-old limousine company owner, had been plugging away on the tables for 17 hours and was the first to admit that his condition was not the best.
Wax told casino officials: "There's no question I stink. I'm not denying it. I do have an odor. I've been playing for 17 hours."
A manager from the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa poker room followed the perpetrator into a restroom and told him that the other players had complained, before he was then barred from retaking his place at the table.
Wax has filed a complaint with the Casino Control Commission as he feels the casino, which also refused him a room to clean up, was out of line.
However, it does of course highlight one advantage online casinos have over the bricks and mortar versions, and I for one am happy to fester away in my 'pit' as I try to boost the bankroll.
With qualifiers up and running on Betfair for next month's World Series of Poker Europe, the online players can spend all day and night in the comfort of their homes on their computers, with no need at all to even see a bar of soap.
That suits me down to the ground although I am not sure how much sitting at a table moving some chips around would make me sweat anyway.
I am also not sure you would be thrown out of the WSOPE for smelling too much and it might, of course, prove to be a tactic (when my poker play falls down, which it generally does) for some as they try to upset their rivals, when the big one kicks off in September.
