Other then a few strategy articles, I haven't really done a lot of blogging about live poker tournaments or what's going on in my life lately. I'd like this to be the first of many official blog posts in a long while and I promise that I will be updating my blog a lot more frequently then in the past.

The next few months are going to be very special ones for me. Starting today, November 1st, I will be back on the online grind until PCA / Aussie Millions in late December. My goal is to exercise PROPER bankroll management for the first time in my entire poker career! Believe it or not this is true... Even when I first started playing online I remember depositing $50 and playing 5/10 ($50 was the minimum buy in) and any time I had increased my roll to the minimum buy in for a bigger game I'd jump into that one! It actually worked out OK for me at first. I would deposit $50, run it up to 5k-20k, lose it all and repeat.

Looking back at some of the hand histories from the past, I find it absolutely amazing that I use to win at poker back then the way I played. I was hopeless... Mind you, this was about 5 years ago and the one thing I had going for me was that amazingly most people were worse than I was. Anyways, I degen'd through a few really nice rolls before discovering that my forte was tournament poker. Anyways, now that I'm starting to get into cash games I feel that it's imperative I set up rules for myself... My biggest poison has come from high stakes heads up Sit and Go's... I usually play them after a losing session which definitely doesn't help my mentality and to make matters worse I don't practice good game selection. I'll frequently sit with regulars and play more than one of them against more than one different opponent.

Even though I consider myself a good heads up player, I've finally realized and am happy to admit that the regulars at that level who play nothing but HU SNG's are far more superior in skill. I NEED to learn a less expensive way to satisfy my fix. Therefore, I'm completely cutting myself off from 2k+ HU sng's until the new year where I will re-evaluate. In the mean time, I will be playing a ton of online tournaments and putting in a lot of hands at mid-stakes level and hopefully officially work my way up to higher stakes without taking any shortcuts.

The first person who catches me playing a 2k + Heads up SNG before Jan 1st 2010 will receive $300, so keep an eye out J
