GRANT Levy has been playing poker for two and a half years. And much of that has been online. This was only his third live tournament.

Grant Levy has just won $1million to become Sydney's first-ever Asia Pacific Poker Tour Champion at the Star City Casino. He defeated a field of 561 players, including four world champions.

And the secret of his success: "I knew, I just knew I had the best hand," he said.
Is that it? "He's a very determined, competitive person," says his wife. "He was determined to win."

So luck and determination is the recipe. And, of course, the more you play, the more determined and luckier you get...
