Dr David Witt, of Kaiser Permanente's San Rafael Center, tells the Poker Anorak of a study in which people were exposed to a cold virus and then asked to play poker.

As the Petaluma Argus-Courier reports: "Half of the subjects had their hands tied loosely to the table so they couldn't touch their faces. Those with their hands free got sick, while those with hands tied stayed healthy."

Not being able to touch your face in game of poker may have other benefits - hide that tell by tying your hands together.

Of course, the other players may think you're a lunatic, but that will only put them of their game all the more.
