I started keeping records last Monday.
It was a bad day to start keeping records - as I lost last Monday.
In fact, Monday was my only losing day last week (I did start a successful MTT last Monday, but it finished on Tuesday, so I count that as Tuesday).
And then yesterday I lost again - and I played a lot of poker.
It was one of those days - every time I had a lot of outs, I missed. Every time my opponents had a single out, they hit it - twice. And the old favourite - every time I had a premium pair, some guy called "I da Nutz" or "wankbrain" would hit a set, and because thay had shown they were capable of losing a buy-in with overcards, I lost a buy-in.
It wasn't disastrous, but at one stage it was verging on really bad, but I clawed most of my losses back by the end of the day - but my spreadsheet has red on it again - and I don't like red.
Maybe my play is worse on a Monday - or maybe my own personal poker god - Steve - doesn't like Mondays.
I reckon Steve had a bad weekend - got really drunk on on Sunday, didn't pull (he usually does seeing as he is a god) and woke up with the hangover from hell. And then I come along, load up the tables - and he has to lift his head from the pillow, and look after my fortunes. And it's the last thing he wants to do - all he wants is a couple of Anadin Extras and a bit of shut-eye.
Maybe that's what I should do - on a Sunday night I should offer a sacrifice of some kind of paracetamol based product, and an eye mask - and maybe he'll be kinder to me on a Monday.
Fortunately today should be OK, as I know Steve likes to stay in on a Monday night and watch Eastenders.
