We will never know if the controversial editor of Cardplayer, Jeff Shulman really would through away his WSOP bracelet as he initially said he would do if he won, as he has been eliminated in fifth place.
Shulman, who's father Barry won the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, was making his second Main Evrnt final table, after finishing 7th back in 2000. On that day he lost a massive pot with 77 vs 66 of eventual winner Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson and it would be a pair of sevens that would be his undoing once again.
For some reason, Antoine Saout made and over-sized raise of 5,400,000 which prompted Shulman to raise him for an extra 200,000 chips. As Saout revealed Ac9s, Shulman showed 7c7h meaning the players were in a multi-million dollar coinflip.
The flip did not go Shulman's way though as a nine appeared on a Ts9d6s flop. The Qc on the turn reduced Shulman's odds further and his Main Event was confirmed as over when the 4s arrived on the river.
Shulman picks up $1,953,452 for his fifth place finish whilst Saout is still in the hunt, now with 62,925,000 chips I his arsenal.
