Marcus Bebb-Jones, 46, has been arrested at his home in Kidderminster over the alleged murder of his wife of 12 years and now face extradition to the United States of America.
Bebb-Jones, a wealthy high-roller is alleged to have murdered his wife, Sabrina Bebb-Jones, 31, and buried her in an American National Park before attempting to commit suicide.
According to initial reports, Mr Bebb-Jones killed his wife then used her credit cards for a "playboy weekend" before returning home, placing a loaded gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. However, his suicide failed and he suffered no life-threatening injuries.
A body was discovered in a Colorado park back in 2004 when police found a human skull. Mr Bebb-Jones was living back in the UK at the time of the discovery but after an investigation by detectives, Mr Bebb-Jones was named as the prime suspect and moves have been taken for his extradition to the USA where he will be interviewed, at length and possibly charged with the murder of his wife.
Aron Watkins, a US prosecuter speaking at an emergency extradition hearing said, "He is responsible for the murder and deliberate concealment of it for many years." He continued, "This offence is so serious that he faces life imprisonment without the possibility of parole."
Marcus Bebb-Jones will now be remanded in custody until November 26.
