Betfair Poker players be careful. Looking at a computer screen for hours on end is not healthy!

"I HAVE been told by my optician that looking at a computer screen for so many hours a day is seriously damaging my eye sight. [Insert lewd joke here.] I am now wearing contacts and now need higher strength ones. It's getting worse all the time. Blood shot, sore, worse sight etc. etc. Just wondering if anyone has any idea's as I am now relying on online poker to make a living." So says James on the Poker Forums. Can we help?

The Betfair Clinic is open.

Semper-Fidelis: "Sorry MrFP dont have the solution but I suffer from exactly the same as you."

Anothr one. Is this an epidemic? Can you catch bad eysight? And will the doomsayers who see the Devil in the cards seize upon it? First the eyes go, then the pustules come and not even erasing your browser history can prevent you from looking like Cherie Blair in a clinch with John Prescott.

Semper-Fidelis searches the web and finds a study: "They suggested, however, that the optic nerve in myopic eyes might be much more susceptible to computer stress. 'Computer stress is reaching higher levels than has ever been experienced before. In the next decade, therefore, it might be important for public health professionals to show more concern about myopia and visual field abnormalities in heavy computer users.'"

Try squinting...
