SportsAid Athletes of the Day: Sunday August 10th

Beth Rodford and Alison Knowles, age 25 and 26, Reading and London, rowing, women's eight heats begin: 10/08.

Profile: SportsAid alumni Beth and Alison have both been selected to row in the eights in Beijing. Known as being a hugely demanding sport both girls have really proved their ability to push themselves to their limits, achieving great success over the years.
Beth started rowing at the age of 13 and went on to make her GB debut in 1999 winning bronze in the fours at the World Junior Championships. Alison started rowing when she was 18 at Exeter University.
In 2004 they became the under 23 World Champions in the fours and in 2005 became part of the eights that came fifth in World Championships. In 2006 they continued their good form coming 4th in 2006 World Cup event again in the eights.
