It's as plain as black and white that home really could be sweet this weekend... well at least for Andrew French
Back Crystal Palace @ 1.76; Back Huddersfield @ 1.74; Back Grimsby @ 2.66;
The Treble pays approximately 8.21
It's not fatigue or old age that is keeping Andrew French at home this weekend; it's the fact that our Multiples expert fancies three out-of-form teams to get turned over on their travels this Saturday. Put your feet up Andrew.
Leg 1: Crystal Palace at [1.76] to beat Scunthorpe
You just cannot ship goals freely and expect to do anything but struggle - so until Scunthorpe show signs of putting their finger in the dam, they are a team to bet against in the Championship.
So far, Nigel Adkins side have conceded 13 goals in five games, including eight in their two away trips. What's more, the Iron have failed to score in four of those league games. Crystal Palace won't get a better chance to record their first home win of the season - and their battling point at Peterborough after winning at Ipswich shows they have what it takes. Back Palace at [1.76].
Leg 2: Huddersfield at [1.73] to beat Brentford
Huddersfield have been earning some rave reviews for their recent displays, not least the come-from-behind 3-2 win at MK Dons last weekend following a gutsy 4-3 defeat at Newcastle in the Carling Cup. Lee Clark has got them scoring goals too - 23 in eight league and cup games with strikers Theo Robinson and Jordan Rhodes each having seven to their name already. They will take some stopping at the Galpharm Stadium in their current form, and although Brentford have made a good start themselves, I can't see them doing it.
The Bees were unbeaten until losing to leaders Charlton last weekend, but that game showed they may just be a bit short of the very top in League One. Therefore, include Huddersfield in your treble at [1.73].
Leg 3: Grimsby at [2.68] to beat Hereford
Grimsby have lost all three home league games so far at Blundell Park - but at least they have managed a league victory this season, which is more than can be said for this weekend's visitors Hereford. It's a fixture that, even at this early stage, takes on the look of a relegation six-pointer.
There is some mitigation for the Mariners' three home reverses, as all have come against sides that look likely to be involved in the promotion battle - while their sole success at Bury at least showed they know how to win and keep a clean sheet. Hereford have conceded at least one goal in all six of their league outings, and they showed a huge propensity to lose on the road (17 defeats in 23) as they were relegated out of League One last season. Therefore, get behind Grimsby at [2.68].
*The Treble pays around [8.21]
