Back Manchester United to beat Bayern Munich @ 1.8
Back van Barneveld to beat Lewis @ 2.6
Back Kolkata Knight Riders to beat Delhi Daredevils @ 2.4
Treble pays @ 11.2

The Barney Army is never more vocal than in Scotland and that can be enough to inspire Raymond van Barneveld to victory over Adrian Lewis this week...

Bet 1: Football - Champions League

Bouncebackability may have only been officially recognised as a word of the English language since 2004, but its literal definition - the ability to bounce back - is a trait which Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United sides have been practising for over two decades.

The mark of a true champion is measured by how you respond to defeat and adversity. Time and time again throughout the last twenty years and more, United have shown just why they are one of Europe's most successful teams. This week they will have to do so once again and without their star man, or in the space of a week their season will have been turned completely on its head.

Old Trafford tends to create a special atmosphere on nights like this and the fans will be doing their upmost to fill the void left by Wayne Rooney's absence. It won't be a stroll in the park, but I do fancy United to get the win which would almost certainly see them progress to the semi-finals.

Selection: Back Manchester United to beat Bayern Munich @ [1.8]

Bet 2: Darts - Premier League of Darts

Adrian Lewis got back to winning ways last week with an impressive win over the resurgent James Wade. This week he will face Raymond van Barneveld in an attempt to repeat his most impressive performance of the competition to date; cast your mind back to week two and his 6-0 lead before the break for a reminder of just how good 'Jackpot' can be when on top of his game.

However, there is one major factor which should be considered this week when the pair come head to head once again - location. The Premier League of Darts arrives in Scotland, Glasgow this week, a country where the Barney Army is always out in full force and where van Barneveld is treated like a native. Lewis, on the other hand, receives the sort of notorious reception reserved specifically for English sportsmen.

For two players with extremely fragile mindsets, this factor cannot be overlooked and the odds of [2.6] on van Barneveld should not be ignored. Conservative punters might like to lay Lewis at [2.2] but it's all about the Dutchman in this week's multiple.

Selection: Back van Barneveld to beat Lewis @ [2.6]

Bet 3: Cricket - Indian Premier League

It has been a very stop-start IPL campaign for the Kolkata Knight Riders who haven't won back-to-back games since their opening duo of fixtures. They looked set to put that right when setting Kings XI Punjab a target of 201 to win in their last match, but a combination of poor bowling and a Mahela Jayawardene master class resulted in a comfortable win for Punjab.

They will be able to add to their batting strength by calling upon Brendon McCullum against Delhi Daredevils this Wednesday. Combined with the form that both Chris Gayle and Sourav Ganguly have been showing, that makes a devastating trio.

Delhi are the deserved favourites to win this match, but when Kolkata get it right they are more than a match for any team in this league. I'm hoping that their win-lose sequence continues for another match at least and am backing them at [2.4] too add another two points to their tally here.

Selection: Back Kolkata Knight Riders to beat Delhi Daredevils @ [2.4]
