Back Garcia Lopez to beat Robredo @ 2.8
Back Nottinghamshire to beat Yorkshire @ 1.7
Back England U21 to beat FYR Macedonia @ 1.4
£10 Treble @ 6.6

Jaymes Monte takes a look at the midweek sporting action from around the globe, and picks out his three best bets to make up a tasty treble...

Bet 1: Tennis - US Open

Flushing Meadows has opened its gates for the final Grand Slam of the year, and all the talk on British shores is of a certain Andy Murray. Many believe that the US Open on his favoured hard court surface offers his best chance of winning his first Grand Slam. He is priced at [4.7] to take the title in New York.

Of the early round matches there is rarely much value in following the top players, so a look at the mid-ranked players is where we need to focus our attention in the first week. One second round match that stands out for me is the all Spanish affair between Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Tommy Robredo.

Garcia-Lopez had a bright start to the hard court series in the US, pulling off shock victories against Fernando Verdasco and Mikhail Youzhny in Cincinnati before losing a third set tie break against Julien Benneteau. Robredo has the better head-to-head record between the two, but Garcia-Lopez's game has looked solid in recent weeks and his consistency from the back of the court can frustrate Robredo into making unforced errors.

Selection: Back Garcia Lopez to beat Robredo @ [2.8]

Bet 2: Cricket - Pro40 Division One

As the Pro40 divisions begin to take shape, both Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire find themselves at the wrong end of Division One occupying the bottom two spots. Yorkshire, having played two games more than Notts, are the higher of the two but have just one victory from their five fixtures.

Nottinghamshire fans must have thought that they were about to record their first victory of the campaign after they posted an impressive 282 against Worcestershire on Saturday, but a lacklustre bowling display saw that number chased down with more than two overs remaining. More than half of those 282 runs came via a hugely impressive 150 not out from the youngster Alex Hales which included eight maximums.

A similar batting performance from the Notts players would almost certainly be enough to beat this Yorkshire side, and at [1.7] they look good value to oblige.

Selection: Back Nottinghamshire to beat Yorkshire @ [1.7]

Bet 3: Football - U21 Qualifiers

Stuart Pearce's Under 21 side will get their Euro 2011 qualification campaign underway this Friday in what will be their first competitive game since being humbled by their German counterparts in the 2009 final.

A number of players involved in that final, including James Milner, Theo Walcott and Mark Noble, will not be involved in this campaign due to their age. However, there is still a number of high quality Premier League based players involved.

Two of the more experienced players in the squad, Lee Cattermole and Fabrice Muamba, will be vying for the captaincy role against FYR Macedonia on Friday. Whilst Danny Welbeck, James Vaughan and Daniel Sturridge will all be looking for a starting birth in the front line of attack.

The England side made up of a wealth of Premier League experience will have too much for a Macedonian side largely consisting of players based in the Macedonian league.

Selection: Back England U21 to beat FYR Macedonia @ [1.4]
