Monte's Multiple: Continuing the search for that elusive winner
Monte's Multiple

I received a phone call from Phil Brown on Thursday morning, thanking me for including his side in Monte's Multiple last week. After picking up just one win in their previous 17 games Hull managed to beat a Fulham side who had previously only lost one game at home all season, subsequent to including a back of the Cottagers in my selections last week.
Although the Multiple was already a loser, the other two selections did throw up at least one good priced winner with a lay of Phil Taylor paying out at [1.35]. In addition to that, at the time of writing South Africa are chasing a mammoth 546 and a draw appears to be their best hope meaning it looks like yet another 'two out of three' for last week's selections.
Whilst last week's was another losing treble, with the later two results we're heading back on track, and it is surely only a matter of time. Here goes for this week, keep the faith!
Bet One: Football - League One
The teams pushing for automatic promotion to the Championship from League One are effectively now competing for just one spot. With just 10 games left to play Leicester City are now 12 points clear of second place Peterborough and 15 clear of third place MK Dons. They have lost just two games all season and scored a staggering 69 goals in doing so - the most in English football this season.
On Wednesday night Leicester travel to Birkenhead to take on an out of form Tranmere Rovers who are slowly slipping out of play-off contention having won just two of their previous nine games. They have failed to score more than one goal in any of those nine games, with The Foxes goalscoring prowess they will need more than a solitary strike to win this game. Leicester's 4-0 victory at the weekend included one from striker Matt Fryat which took his tally to 28 for the season - also the most in English football.
Leicester can be backed at a rather generous [2.2] and they are my first selection this week.
Selection One: Back Leicester @ [2.2]
Bet Two & Three: Darts - Premier League
Last Thursday was a night for the underdog with only one of the four odds on favourites taking both points with a win. This year's Premier League is now starting to really hot up; as we got into match six even Jelle Klaasen, who is floundering at the foot of the table with one point, will still hold hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.
Week six fixtures throw up three games which could prove to be pivotal to the outcome of the tournament. First up on the night is van Barneveld versus King - disappointment of the tournament versus undefeated debutant. Barney has shown very little form since his World Championship final defeat, highlighted by scrapping his way to a draw against Wayne Mardle last week with a very modest (by his standards) 95.7 average. Beside him on the oche, King's undefeated record takes on much greater status now that his list of fixtures played includes Phil Taylor. He outscored 'The Power' in the 180 department, made three 100+ checkouts and finished the match with a 102.8 average on his way to a draw last week.
I was amazed to see Barney priced up as favourite in this match and with my continued policy of keeping the draw on side a lay of the Dutchman is the only way forward here.
Second up on Thursday is Jelle Klaasen versus John Part - disappointing debutant versus old timer returning to form. Part has blown hot and cold so far in the Premier League this year recording two wins, two draws and one defeat. Last week he beat an out of sorts Terry Jenkins but did so with a meagre 92.1 average and made just one maximum. Klaasen on the other hand has been a real disappointment in the league so far, he has just one point on the board and that came in week one. However, he upped his game dramatically last week against an in-form James Wade in a high quality match. Klaasen also played and performed well in the weekend's PDC pro tour events in Scotland hitting an eleven darter and a 164 check-out on his way to the quarter-finals on Sunday.
I'm putting my faith in 'The Matador' to build on his recent mini-resurgence with the hope that the unpredictable 'Darth Maple' will also put in one of his lesser performances.
Selection Two: Lay van Barneveld @ [2.3]
Selection Three: Lay Part @[2.2]
