Gordon Brown waves a reluctant goodbye to Monte’s Multiple before resigning as Prime Minister due to the disappointment and stress which ensued.
Fulham to beat Atl Madrid @ [3.8]
Back Lewis to beat Taylor @ [9.0]
Back England to beat Sri Lanka @ [1.9]
Treble pays @ [64.0]
Monte's Multiple suggests a combination of Europa League, Premier League darts and T20 cricket for one big blow out on its final instalment.... it's been emotional.
Bet 1: Football - Europa League
Rearrange the following words into a popular 2010 saying; Tale, Fairy, Fulham's, Season. Given that it is now the most searched for phrase in google ahead of terms such as 'A Night In Paris' and 'Funny Youtube Clip' there will obviously be many interested in following the final chapter this Wednesday evening.
Roy Hodgson has been given his just rewards by being voted the manager of the year by the League Manager's Association, but despite much London based media hype Bobby Zamora is rightly not involved in the England World Cup set-up.
However, Fulham could do with their star striker being fit for their date with destiny. And given a number of players were unsurprisingly rested by Hodgson for Sunday's game with Arsenal, he will be hopeful of being able to field a fully refreshed and revitalised side.
Having been matched at a high of [560.0] in the Europa League winners market they are now available to back at just [2.6], but I am going to go one step further and take the generous [3.8] on a historic win inside the 90 minutes.
Selection: Fulham to beat Atl Madrid @ [3.8]
Bet 2: Darts - Premier League
The 2010 Premier League of Darts group stage draws to a close this week with the most closely contested finish that we have ever had in the competition. Five players are separated by just three points and any three of them could conceivably make it to the semi-final stage.
A couple of weeks back, after he beat Raymond van Barneveld in Glasgow, it looked as though Adrian Lewis might have found a new level to the mental aspect of his game. However, he has since reverted to the inconsistent form that has plagued his career.
He needs other results to go his way this week but he also needs to beat a certain Phil Taylor. Whilst the inconsistencies remain you could not back Jackpot to win a tournament, but they do mean that we invariably get some good value prices in the match odds markets. It's not one to put your life savings on but on top form Lewis can beat Taylor, I'm sure of that, and at [9.0] he's worth a punt with the pressure off.
Selection: Back Lewis to beat Taylor @ [9.0]
Bet 3: Cricket - T20 World Cup
England are getting dangerously good at this Twenty20 malarkey and if they're not careful they might start attracting some sort of expectation. With the bat, attacking openers are followed by an innovative and big hitting middle order and a long tail, with the ball, the quicks are becoming more than adept at deploying the slower ball and Graeme Swann and Michael Yardy provide a potent spin attack.
And so with three wins from three in the Super Eights England have marched onto the semi-finals in an impressive fashion, and by beating New Zealand they also proved that they are not solely reliant on Kevin Pietersen.
KP should be back for the semi-final and along with Eoin Morgan, Craig Kieswetter and Luke Wright can take the attack to the Sri Lankans who haven't been entirely impressive in this tournament. England's bowlers will try to bounce them out of the game as Australia did so successfully in the Super Eights and I expect an England-Australia final. Can this group of Englishmen end years of hurt on the international stage?
Selection: Back England to beat Sri Lanka @ [1.9]
