A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way....

Harry Redknapp had organised a tour of California for the Spurs squad as part of their pre-season schedule this year. But the lads turned him down. They wanted to go to the South Coast and find out what it was like to ride on an open-top bus.

That's what the Joker would have told, if Spurs hadn't snaffled a Carling Cup recently. As it is, Spurs fans must make their own entertainment, and they might take their lead from the players. Michael Dawson revealed recently that he's often the butt of dressing-room jokes:

'I remember we played Nottingham Forest in the cup soon after I arrived at Spurs from there.

'The lads had a meeting at the training-ground and decided to see if they could get me to do the team talk. So someone fetched me.

'At that point I'd not trained or played with the lads, who were all in there. They had the Forest team on the whiteboard in front of them, so I began.

'But after a couple of seconds they all started cheering! They've hammered me ever since!"

Great banter, lads. Harry takes Tottenham to visit his old club Bournemouth for a friendly this evening. Spurs' tour has been high-scoring so far, and there is no reason the Joker can think of for this game being any different.
