Joe Dyer reports on a poor England performance on the pitch and for their backers on the exchange
It was a disappointing night for England fans and their backers as Fabio Capello's team went down 1-0 to France in Paris.
In an uneventful game there was little excitement to be had on the exchange with France touching a 'high' of [2.92] on Betfair.
That goal came on 32 minutes through Franck Ribery's penalty - the final score coupled with an opener from The Bayern Munich midfielder was backed at [55.0] on Betfair's scorecast feature.
Scotland came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Croatia. Slaven Bilic's team were backed at [1.45] while the draw was a [5.1] shot.
The game of the night took place in Austria, however, where Holland were matched at [95.0] in-running before pulling off a comeback from 3-0 down. Austria, were backed at [1.05] to win while the draw also went odds-on at [1.28].
A high of [53.0] was taken on there being seven goals or more, while Austria to hold the halftime lead and Holland the fulltime lead was backed at [40.0].

Yes that was a painful performance to watch from England. However I don't know why I'm surprised, it always is! The last time I remember feeling satisfied from an England game was 5-1 Germany but how many years ago was that!?
Oh well I suppose it's early days for Capello, I just hope he can sort them out for the world cup qualifiers.
