Benfica were matched at a high of 4.2 to beat Everton at Goodison Park tonight, which they duly did. The Portuguese giants are now the joint favourites at odds of [12.0] to win the Europa League alongside Shakhtar Donetsk, though of course it should be remembered that there will still be teams from the Champions League entering the competition at a later stage. The 2-0 scoreline was matched at [29.0].
Elsewhere Roma beat Fulham 2-1 after being a goal behind and touched 5.5 on Betfair in a match that saw two Fulham players sent off. Roma are also seen as being there or thereabouts as regards winning the competition and trade at [14.0].
There was a last-gasp win for Genoa, who were backed at [12.0] over Lille and a straightforward home win for Villarreal over Lazio after the Spanish outfit touched [2.2]. AEK Athens, who are in the same group as Benfica and Everton, weren't so efficient and drew 2-2 against BATE Borisov after being matched at a low of [1.23].
