Black Caviar records win no.18
"If she comes through this great, there's a chance you'll see her in seven days and if she comes through that great, there's a chance you'll see her in seven days again."
A step up to seven furlongs proved to be no barrier to success for the incredible Black Caviar as she stretched her unbeaten record to 18 in the CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield...
Peter Moody's Royal Ascot-bound charge had looked better than ever on her recent return from a break at Moonee Valley and she followed up in quite brilliant style in the hands of regular rider Luke Nolen.
After sitting close to the pace until the turn for home, Black Caviar eased clear of her opponents to win by over three lengths and Moody is now considering running his charge twice more before the end of February.
The six-year-old could return to five furlongs for the Lightning Stakes at Flemington next week and then line up in the seven-furlong Futurity Stakes at Caulfield on February 25.
"To see her go out and do that to good horses is unbelievable," said Moody.
"I suggested to Luke, and I'd be lying if I didn't say otherwise, that I'm seriously considering taking her to Flemington next week.
"People might think it a greed issue but we've never pushed her or done a lot with her.
"And the ease of that, we're going to have to do more work with her next Saturday morning to have her ready for the Futurity than she did here this afternoon.
"If she comes through this great, there's a chance you'll see her in seven days and if she comes through that great, there's a chance you'll see her in seven days again."
Nolen was equally thrilled with the performance, adding: "If you were writing a script, that's how you'd want it to play out.
"It's a great privilege to be part of such a wonderful story.
"I gave her a shake for 50 yards or so, then I throttled down."
Part-owner Neil Werrett told www.abc.net.au: "That might have been her best win yet.
"It was certainly her easiest."
